It has been a great summer for our compadres youth. We’ve expanded our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) skills. The children are busy designing and building their own communities. We have also been developing our social emotional skills by learning about empathy and respect; listening with attention; being assertive; respecting similarities and differences; understanding feelings and different perspectives; compassion and emotional management; managing strong feelings and anxiety; calming down; and being part of a team. Our children’s Celebration Picnic was filled with face painting, soccer games, great food and ended with a visit from the ice cream truck. It wouldn’t be summer without swimming and boating at White lake. All in all it’s been an educational and incredibly fun summer.
