TIPs Training

What is the TIPs program?

The TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) program addresses concerns specific to restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and all on-premise liquor license holders. The program is designed to empowers your employees to take a proactive approach toward preventing alcohol misuse and maintaining control of the environment. The program teaches servers how to prevent:

  • Intoxication,
  • Drunk driving;
  • And underage drinking among their guests.

What is the benefit of TIPs certification in my community?

TIPs training can also improve business and community relations. Liquor boards and local authorities tend to look favorably on establishments that incorporate TIPS, which can lead to more lenient penalties in the event of an alcohol violation. TIPS can also help an establishment protect itself from possible litigation and often results in reduced liability insurance premiums. In addition, over 70 insurance companies also recognize TIPS as a vital risk management tool!

 

Duration of program

  • The training takes about 5 hours to complete
  • Participants receive a 3 Year Certification card after successfully completing TIPs
