Sussex County Youth Empowerment Showcase

At the heart of the showcase, local youth present their perspectives on making positive choices, displayed through drawings, art, and essays. Exploring the benefits of avoiding substances like alcohol, marijuana, and vaping and the role of positive influences in their lives, the showcase includes submissions from CFPC’s What’s Your Anti-Drug, What Makes Me Happy, and Achieving my Dreams – Alcohol-Free youth contests. The showcase is neither an art show nor a contest judged on skill. Instead, it’s a meaningful display of thoughtful expression to share insights on making choices that lead to healthy lifestyles.

Guests can browse the showcase at their leisure – staying for a short time or lingering longer to engage with interactive displays offered by CFPC’s Incorruptible Us and Wallkill Valley Above the Influence youth action groups. Agency staff will provide Informational displays of their services, including prevention programs, substance use disorder counseling and coaching, and addiction recovery supports, highlighting free resources available for youth, individuals, families, and communities.

The Center for Prevention & Counseling’s Youth Empowerment Showcase aims to bring the community together to recognize the positive impact of our youth, underscoring the importance of listening to their thoughts and voices and showing that engaging with our youth’s perspectives is key to building a stronger, more connected community.
