Peer Support

The Spring Street Harm Reduction Center is run and staffed by people with lived experience of substance use, and we rely on the feedback and insight of people who use drugs to help inform the operation of our program. We offer peer support for participants of the Harm Reduction Center, supporting their own personal goals. In addition, Harm Reduction Counseling offers a safe place for people who use drugs and are exploring a harm reduction pathway to engage in outpatient, individual therapy.  In Harm Reduction Counseling, there is no judgement, no forced abstinence and clients are met with respect, wherever they are on their journey.  Together, the client and counselor, will work on setting reasonable goals to work toward positive change in the client’s life.  Clients will also work with counselors to develop realistic strategies to reduce any negative consequences that he or she would prefer to avoid.
