The energy, enthusiasm and excitement at our 15th Annual Taking Flight to Change Summit was incredible! Never Underestimate the Power Of One, this year’s theme, sent a powerful message to over 1100 Sussex County students.
Keynote speaker, Kyle Scheele, assured students that they can transform their school and community climate by being encouraging and accepting & by being kind and supportive to each other on a daily basis. Kyle also discussed bullying and the importance of speaking up when they see bullying happening to others and realize that standing by as it occurs is as bad as the bullying itself. Kyle Scheele knew exactly how to inspire students!
Back by popular demand for the 3rd year in a row were the Camden Sophisticated Sisters (CSS), a drill team from Camden, NJ. CSS showcased their dances, music and shared their amazing stories that have transpired their lives. CSS delivered an amazing, powerful performance that had students dancing in their chairs.
Our Sussex County students also had an opportunity to shine at the Summit! The Summit concluded with inspiring student presentations from Sussex County Technical School, Frankford School, Stillwater School, Sussex County Charter School and Lafayette Elementary School.
