Family Support

Substance use and addiction impact the entire family, and each person can benefit from education and support in their own process of recovery. While learning about recovery themselves, family members and close friends can improve relationships and create the best scenario for their loved one to initiate and sustain recovery. By gaining effective tools and skills, family members and friends can be a positive influence in their loved one’s life and maintain their own well-being. The Center values family and friends as great allies of recovery.

The Center offers a variety of recovery support groups for family members and friends as well as ongoing, one-on-one support from a Family/Friend Recovery Coach. Below are some resources available to you as a family member or friend, while at the same time being part of the solution in your loved one’s recovery journey.

SUPPORT MEETINGS

• IN-PERSON meetings are located at 61 Spring Street, Newton, NJ 07860.
• VIRTUAL meetings are offered via Zoom.
• HYBRID meetings welcome participants both in-person and via Zoom.
• CLOSED meetings are limited to people that identify as members or potential participants of the group.
• OPEN meetings are open to anyone, including observers.

Al-Anon – If you have been affected by a loved one’s alcohol use

Codependency Anonymous – If you have a desire for healthy and loving relationships
Families Anonymous (FA) – If you are concerned about a loved one’s substance use or behavioral problems

Nar-Anon and NJ Nar-Anon – If you have been affected by a loved one’s substance use
