The same rules and consequences apply for driving under the influence of cannabis as they do for driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated. It is dangerous, illegal, an puts lives at risk.

While general cannabis use cannot be the deciding factor for hiring or firing someone, employers have the right to maintain a drug and alcohol-free work environment.  In-house or contracted Drug Recognition Experts may perform random drug tests for intoxication at work, and may test anyone who appears to be impaired on the job, or who has been in a workplace accident. - New Jersey CRC

On April 21, 2022 licensed sales and use of cannabis to those 21 and older began in New Jersey through the New Jersey’s Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization (CREAMM) Act. Even though cannabis is legal at state level, it is NOT legal at the federal level.

The new legalization comes with various rules and regulations.
